
"Hasan Ali Gori, of no fixed abode, appeared before Judge Fiona Brennan charged with the murder of 89-year-old Josephine (Joan) Ray at her address of 91 St Joseph's Park, Nenagh, Co Tipperary. Her body was discovered on Sunday, August 4, 2024. Detective Garda Pádraig O'Leary of Nenagh Garda Station gave evidence of arrest, charge, and caution. Garda O'Leary said he arrested Gori, 51, at 10.04am on Friday, October 17."
"Mr Gori replied, "I know nothing, sir,", when charged. Gori, wearing a red coat and grey trousers in court, was remanded in custody to appear before the court again on Thursday, October 23 next. No application was made for bail as bail cannot be granted in the District Court in murder cases. Solicitor Colin Morrissey applied for legal aid. The judge said Mr Gori's medical needs are already being taken care of. Mr Gori had been in a relationship with Ms Ray's daughter, Mary Ray."
