The Massachusetts Port Authority is proposing fee increases for rideshare pickups and drop-offs at Logan Airport. Starting in July 2027, charges will rise from the current $3.25 to $7.50. This translates to an anticipated $15 increase per roundtrip for riders using Uber or Lyft. The agency aims to improve infrastructure, including electric vehicle charging stations and upgrades to Logan Express stations. These changes come after six years without fee adjustments, reflecting rising passenger numbers and the need to accommodate growth in rideshare usage.
"Any changes in transportation fees would be intended to fund those investments," said Jennifer Mehigan, a spokesperson for the agency.
"As passengers increase at Logan, we expect even more to use Ride Apps," Mehigan said. "We need to continue to improve our infrastructure to handle this growth."
