MJK Kindergarten / HIBINOSEKKEI + Youji no Shiro + Kids Design Labo
Briefly

The renovation project transforms an aging kindergarten into a harmonious space that blends indoor classrooms with the external nature, enhancing children's connection to their environment.
The design features classrooms arranged in an L-shape, facing a natural playground and allowing the children to interact regularly with nature and its seasons.
By incorporating a semi-outdoor corridor reminiscent of a Japanese veranda, children engage with the elements, fostering a greater awareness and appreciation of the surrounding environment.
The building includes a courtyard that preserves existing trees, promoting respect for nature among children while experiencing the seasonal changes and fostering sustainable practices.
