Leanne McDonell, a 33-year-old mother, has denied ownership of a Pitbull that fatally mauled her friend Akif Mushtaq, leading to his death due to severe injuries.
During a court appearance, McDonell pleaded not guilty to being the owner of the dog responsible for Mushtaq's fatal injuries sustained in an attack on November 4.
Mr. Mushtaq suffered extensive injuries from the attack, including puncture wounds and tracheal laceration, leading to multiple organ failure and hypoxic brain injury.
The Snaresbrook Crown Court has set a trial date for June 2, estimating that the trial may take three to four days regarding the charges against McDonell.
