Naya Rivera's son remembers the day she died - and how he tried to save her
Briefly

In a recent interview, Ryan Dorsey discussed how their son, Josey, continues to cope with the trauma of Naya Rivera's tragic passing. Rivera drowned in 2020 while boating with 4-year-old Josey at Lake Piru, who now, at age 9, vividly remembers the events of that day. Dorsey explained how Josey expressed his fears prior to swimming and later felt guilty for not saving his mother when she disappeared into the water. His struggles are compounded by memories of that day, which still linger.
According to Dorsey, Josey continues to grapple with guilt over not being able to save his mother. "Something he's said over and over is that he was trying to find a life raft, and there was a rope, but there was a big spider on the rope, and he was too scared to throw it," Dorsey recalled. "I keep reassuring him, 'Buddy, that rope wasn't going to be long enough.'"
