NY expected to be hit with up to 5 inches of snow over bone-chilling weekend
Briefly

New York City is bracing for a winter storm that could deliver 3 to 5 inches of snow this weekend, along with a mix of sleet and slush. Meteorologists project the storm will move in from the Great Lakes, beginning Saturday night and continuing into Sunday, when temperatures are expected to plunge to around 23 degrees. The northern parts of the city may see the most accumulation, and conditions could worsen with refreezing overnight, leading to hazardous driving conditions for Monday commuters. Further snow and ice are anticipated in the coming week.
The powerful storm is forecast to blow in from the Great Lakes, slamming the city Saturday night and Sunday morning, if temperatures remain below freezing, said FOX Weather Meteorologist Stephanie van Oppen.
This could be the first of multiple times [NYC] sees snow this week, everyone needs to be prepared for winter to continue.
