Anthony and Barbara Liberatore have filed a $2 million lawsuit against their neighbor, Bill Lawson, the president of their co-op, for multiple dog attacks by Lawson's pet, Bodie. These incidents included attacks where Bodie allegedly bit Barbara and cornered Anthony, despite house rules requiring dogs to be leashed in common areas. After notifying the management company about the attacks, which left Barbara injured, no action was taken to enforce rules against the dog, prompting the couple to seek damages for the physical and emotional distress caused by the continued presence of Bodie in their building.
The lawsuit claims continued neglect from the residents, with Bodie being allowed to roam free, resulting in two separate attacks on the Liberatores.
Barbara Liberatore stated, 'Bodie quite literally pinned me up against the front door . . . viciously attacked me and bit me on the right wrist and upper right thigh.'
Despite repeated complaints, the management company failed to enforce any action against Bodie, leading to further incidents and fear among the residents.
The couple's lawsuit, seeking $2 million in damages, highlights the ongoing safety concerns and neglect of house rules regarding pets in common areas.
