Paraguayan President Santiago Pena was hospitalized on Monday for a 'slight indisposition' while attending the G20 summit in Brazil's Rio de Janeiro.
In a post on social media, Vice President Pedro Alliana stated, 'He is doing well and awaiting the results of his medical exams,' reassuring the public about Pena's health.
Pena, who turned 46 on Saturday, took office in August last year, becoming the youngest president Paraguay has seen since Alfredo Stroessner's dictatorship.
His office confirmed that the hospital will issue a medical report in the next few hours, reflecting the usual transparency expected in such situations.
