Speaking to Bari Weiss, Peggy Noonan revealed she intentionally avoided meeting Donald Trump for years, fearing it would alter her critical perspective as a journalist.
Noonan recounted: "I had a feeling that up close he would be charming and funny and that it would mess with my swing as an observer."
Reflecting on her avoidance, she noted: "I wanted to see him at a middle distance. And I felt I saw him clearly at a middle distance."
Despite past disagreements, she stated: "So the years pass and the tweets happen, and he attacks me at rallies. And it's fabulous. I mean, it was really interesting."
