On Monday afternoon, a small business jet crashed into a parked plane at Scottsdale Airport in Arizona, leading to the death of 78-year-old pilot Joie Vitosky and serious injuries to three others. The Learjet, owned by Mötley Crüe's Vince Neil though he was not on board, had two pilots and two passengers. The crash involved a parked Gulfstream jet, with one crew member on board who sustained injuries but was released after treatment. The incident has prompted condolences from Neil and authorities for those affected.
A member of the Learjet's flight crew died, according to a preliminary report from the Federal Aviation Administration, and three others on the jet were seriously hurt.
Mr. Neil's thoughts and prayers go out to everyone involved, and he is grateful for the critical aid of all first responders assisting today.
Our hearts go out to his family and friends at this time, said a statement from the police department.
