Attended by family, friends, and aviation colleagues, the funeral emphasized Campos' dedication to flying. Dion Flannery from PSA Airlines noted the profound loss felt within the aviation community. The midair collision with a military helicopter resulted in the death of 66 individuals, raising ongoing investigations by the National Transportation Safety Board. Deacon Edwin Rivera highlighted the tragedy and encouraged mourners to seek comfort and illumination through faith.
"He will never be forgotten," Flannery said. "May our sorrow give rise to pride." The aviation community is in deep mourning for Jonathan Campos.
"For you, his friends and family, it's like being left in a dark alley during a blackout. The power goes out, and we look for something to give us light."
"Turn to Jesus. Let him be the candle that gives you light," said Deacon Rivera during the emotional homily at the funeral.
The tragic crash that took Campos' life is still under investigation by the National Transportation Safety Board.
