Prague bans night-time pub crawls in bid to attract more cultured, wealthier' tourists
Briefly

Prague city councillors are banning night-time pub crawls organized by travel agencies in an effort to attract more cultured and wealthier tourists instead of those focused solely on drinking.
Deputy Mayor Zdenek Hrib explained that the ban will prevent guided tours between 10 PM and 6 AM, while his colleague Jiri Pospisil emphasized the city's goal of targeting a more sophisticated tourism demographic.
Vaclav Starek, head of the Czech Association of Hotels and Restaurants, praised the decision, stating that organized pub crawls have caused issues for locals and more cultured tourists.
Prague is following a trend among European cities like Amsterdam, which has recently initiated campaigns to discourage excessive drinking tourism among young British men.
