Rents are actually falling in these NYC neighborhoods
Briefly

According to a new study from StreetEasy, prospective renters might benefit from considering Prospect Lefferts Gardens in Brooklyn, where the median asking rent fell 5% year-over-year, marking the city's largest decline.
In Bay Ridge, the median asking rent also decreased significantly, with a 4.2% drop bringing it down to $2,300, allowing for the rental of a 720-square-foot, one-bedroom residence with modern features.
Midtown, despite having a 3.6% annual decline in rents to $4,895, remains one of the pricier areas. The high rent still attracts those desiring shorter commutes.
The Upper East Side also saw a 2.3% drop in median asking rent to $3,908, indicating a broader trend of decreasing rents across several neighborhoods in Manhattan.
