Restore The Star: Efforts are underway to revive the former jewel of Brooklyn

The Star Theatre, once known as the 'jewel of Brooklyn,' is seeing a revival as local nonprofit Irish Hills Sports and Recreation aims to restore it for community entertainment.

'We want to benefit this community and see it flourish,' said Cyle Young, reflecting the purpose of the nonprofit to provide family-friendly activities through the Star Theatre.

Plans to restore the Star Theatre have begun with a campaign to raise nearly $2 million, focusing on necessary repairs and a vision for live performances.
