Russian cargo ship's owner says sinking in Mediterranean was act of terrorism'

The owner of the Ursa Major claimed the sinking was a terrorist act due to three explosions on the starboard side, without specifying responsible parties.

While the Ursa Major was sailing in international waters, it began to list and sent a distress call before ultimately sinking, leaving two crew members missing.

Ukrainian naval spokesperson Dmytro Pletenchuk mentioned systemic issues in Russia's naval fleet but did not claim responsibility for the sinking of Ursa Major.

The Ursa Major had cargo capacity for 1,200 tonnes and was the largest ship of its operator, which has ties to Russia's military and is US sanctioned.
