"Early the morning of Feb. 17, the Holes actor was caught on video brawling outside R Bar on the corner of Royal and Kerlerec Streets in the Faubourg Marigny, just outside the French Quarter. Witnesses said LaBeouf was thrown out of the bar for being aggressive. He briefly left the area, but returned a short time later. Video shows him ripping off his shirt and squaring off with several passersby, who mostly appear to be trying to defuse the situation."
"During a court appearance Thursday morning, New Orleans Criminal District Court Judge Simone Levine revoked LaBeouf's release from jail on his own recognizance and set his bond at $100,000. She also required the 39-year-old Disney Channel alum to undergo drug and alcohol treatment and participate in weekly drug testing should he bond out."
"Simone on Thursday took issue with the actor's alleged use of a homophobic slur. She said she revoked his release out of concern for NOLA residents as well as a marginalized community that has faced so much terror already."
Actor Shia LaBeouf was arrested following a street brawl outside R Bar in New Orleans on February 17. Video footage showed him removing his shirt and fighting with multiple people, pushing one person down and punching another. He was charged with two counts of simple battery. Initially released on his own recognizance, Judge Simone Levine revoked this release after LaBeouf allegedly used a homophobic slur during arrest. The judge set his bond at $100,000, which LaBeouf immediately paid. He was ordered to undergo drug and alcohol treatment, participate in weekly drug testing, and was prohibited from leaving the state. The judge expressed concern for New Orleans residents and marginalized communities.
