South Korea: At least 4 dead in heavy snowfall DW 11/28/2024
Briefly

At least four people were reported dead as a result of the weather conditions, with fatalities occurring from both structural collapses due to heavy snow and traffic accidents.
The unusually heavy November snow has been attributed to warmer-than-usual temperatures of sea waters west of the Korean peninsula encountering currents of cold air, a troubling weather phenomenon.
More than 40 cm of snow piled up in parts of Seoul, leading to the cancellation of over 140 flights and disruption of ferry services across the nation.
This event marks the heaviest winter snowfall in more than 100 years, and the third heaviest in the capital Seoul since records began in 1907.
