Swedish startup Adsorbi has secured €1mn in funding to boost production of a cellulose-based air purification material. The funding round, led by Metsä Spring alongside Chalmers Ventures, will facilitate the launch of a pilot plant by June with a capacity of 100 tonnes annually. Originating from research at Chalmers University, Adsorbi's solution not only protects artworks but also functions as a versatile air filter. Unlike activated carbon, Adsorbi's product is longer-lasting, eco-friendly, and features color indicators for replacement, marking a significant advance in pollution control technology.
Adsorbi has developed a cellulose-based material for air pollution control, which is greener and more effective than activated carbon, with a capacity of 100 tonnes per year.
With a focus on protecting artworks from pollution, Adsorbi can now cater to various industries, offering a sustainable solution with a much lower carbon footprint.
