Marseille is exploring a permanent move to sign Oleksandr Zinchenko from Arsenal, but the player's wage demands complicate negotiations and require a solution for the transfer to progress. Talks between the clubs are ongoing. Zinchenko has fallen down the Arsenal pecking order after the club signed Riccardo Calafiori and Piero Hincapie, and homegrown Myles Lewis-Skelly has broken into the first team. Arsenal have signed several players this summer, increasing competition for places. Zinchenko may prefer to run down his contract and leave on a free transfer rather than accept reduced terms.

Arsenal have had a busy summer, with new signings Viktor Gyokeres, Martin Zubimendi, Eberechi Eze, Noni Madueke, Cristhian Mosquera, Christian Norgaard and Kepa Arrizabalaga all joining. Meanwhile, Hincapie looks set to be the next signing coming in, according to the Athletic. It makes sense that AFC could now shift a few players, and Zinchenko seems like an obvious candidate to be offloaded.
