Top of the table, looking down at our rivals, despite still not really firing on all cylinders it's early days, but we're struggling to keep a lid on the excitement here. Having star turns such as Havertz, Madueke and now degaard succumb to long-term injury is a reminder of the risk of being derailed, but it does feel like we've never been better equipped to cope with the slings and arrows.
Absolutely no worries whatsoever, they're [Arsenal] delighted with him [Eberechi Eze] and how he's settled. He's everything they thought he would be. Every fan wants a new signing to hit Ballon d'Or form immediately, but that's not always realistic. Arsenal are in a great place, and they're very happy with Eze. He's adapting well to the system and getting used to his teammates. From what I'm told, they couldn't be happier with his progress. He's exactly the type of player and character they thought they were buying.
A couple of weeks ago, Liverpool seemed on course to win the Premier League for the second season running and probably the Champions League too. The Reds' run of winning without being that good made it feel inevitable. Winning when not at your best is, after all, a sign () of a title-winning side, Clive. But then Liverpool continued playing not particularly well and started losing.
See below for Fabrizio Romano's post on X about Kiwior's move in the summer, explaining that it was a loan for this season, but with an obligation to buy at the end of it ?? Jakub Kiwior to FC Porto, here we go! Deal agreed with Arsenal on loan with obligation to buy. 2m loan fee, 17m obligation to buy plus add-ons and sell-on clause up to potential fee over 25/27m. Liverpool defender Ibrahima Konate made a cheeky comment to Arsenal's William Saliba while they were signing autographs together on France international duty. Konate won the Premier League title with Liverpool last season while Saliba and Arsenal had to make do with second place again a position they've finished in for three years in a row. Liverpool and Arsenal are likely to be the main two title challengers again in 2025/26, and it seems like Konate might have been trying some mind games with Saliba.
"They started the first couple of games scoring lots of goals and then just errors have been their issue," former Leeds striker Lucy Ward said on Disney+. "They haven't had the consistency, they haven't managed games right. Even in the WSL, where it's not the level of the likes of Lyon, they are punished."
The leaked images show that the remake is set to carry the exact same design as its 33-year-old predecessor. This includes a retro Arsenal badge and a uniquely placed adidas logo at the base of the V-shaped neck. The front Image credit: Footy Headlines and the back Image credit: Footy Headlines Perhaps most importantly, however, especially for retro shirt purists, is the inclusion of the original sponsor, electrical firm JVC, on the front of the shirt.
Declan Rice scored against his former club and Bukayo Saka converted from the penalty spot as Arsenal comfortably dispatched West Ham to go top of the Premier League table prior to Liverpool's match later on Saturday. It wasn't all smooth sailing for the home side, however, with captain Martin Ødegaard forced off with an injury in the first-half for the third time this season.
The talented 19-year-old is seemingly facing an uncertain future under PSG manager Luis Enrique, having had less of a key role in the team in recent times. PSG's success in the Champions League last season came with Vitinha, Joao Neves and Fabian Ruiz as Enrique's first-choice midfield three. Still, Zaire-Emery has long been considered a top talent, so he surely won't be happy with not being first choice for his club.
Coming from someone like Thomas [Tuchel], who I know very well, for him to describe Myles in that way is credit to the boy, family and everybody who has been a part of of his education. Myles has probably not played as many minutes as he would have liked, but he is professional in the way he has been engaging with his team and he gives you the possibility to count on him.
Passing combinations can be extremely revealing when it comes to how Premier League teams play. Who sees the ball a lot, and who do they pass to? Who receives lots of passes -- and, intriguingly in some cases, who doesn't? We're still only six games into the season and therefore working with a small sample size, but already some trends are emerging.
Arsenal have been dealt a fresh concern in defense after a worrying substitution during their Champions League clash with Olympiacos, Gabriel Magalhaes was forced off the pitch, prompting fresh questions over his fitness. With the Gunners fighting on multiple fronts this season, losing a key centre-back, even temporarily, is a blow. Manager Mikel Arteta has since attempted to calm nerves, describing the withdrawal as a precautionary move.
And breathe. As Bukayo Saka shot low, hard and ultimately through Kostas Tzolakis in the Olympiakos goal to complete an occasionally uncomfortable 2-0 win, the noise from the home crowd was more a weary, sofa-flopping sigh than a roar of triumph, with the sense, finally, of a midweek putting-to-bed. This was a game Arsenal always looked like they were winning, despite seeming to realise this a little too early in the piece against eager and purposeful opponents.
Arsenal are reportedly ready to consider selling Gabriel Jesus for around 30-35m, with three clubs showing an interest in the Brazilian forward. Jesus is currently out injured and has generally had a lot of fitness problems during his time at the Emirates Stadium. This means we haven't really seen the best of Jesus at Arsenal, and it perhaps makes sense that the Gunners are now prepared to let him go if the opportunity arises.
