The Climate-Driven Diaspora Is Here
Briefly

Many places are becoming increasingly unlivable. Currently, one-quarter of humanity faces drought and food insecurity, with projections indicating that climate change could force 3.5 billion people to relocate by 2070.
The most vulnerable communities, especially the poor and people of color, will suffer the most from climate-driven relocation. Historically marginalized groups, like those in redlined neighborhoods, may face heightened risks from climate events.
Historically, climate migration has largely been internal, but as extreme weather impacts expand, international migration will become inevitable. Effective policy frameworks must be developed to manage and ease these transitions.
Ignoring the impending issue of climate migration will only lead to chaos. As we move forward into 2025, world leaders must create proactive policies to address the legislative gaps that currently exist.
