Representative Mark Pocan has proposed the ELON MUSK Act, which seeks to prohibit special government employees like Elon Musk from receiving federal contracts. Pocan asserts that government employees should have no financial interests in contracts awarded by the government to ensure integrity and protect taxpayers. Musk's numerous federal contracts have raised concerns about his objectivity and ethical conduct. In light of this, the bill aims to uphold ethics standards and address conflicts of interest tied to influential individuals in government roles.
No government employee, 'special' or not, should have any financial interest in who the government does business with. Elon Musk is the poster child for this type of abuse.
After more than $20 billion in federal contracts, there's no way Musk can be objective in what he's doing. Protecting the taxpayers has to be our number one priority.
The ethics rules also advise that such employees should not generally engage in outside activities, including employment, that conflict with official duties.
Musk's infiltration of federal agencies has already sparked public protests and political opposition as he has demanded unfettered access to federal government agency computer systems.
