The Sword, the Texas stoner rock band, has officially announced their reunion with live performances scheduled for April 2025 in Dallas and San Antonio. Their return follows a recent successful appearance at the Levitation festival. These gigs celebrate the 15th anniversary of their 2010 album, Warp Riders, marking their comeback three years after their 2022 breakup. Frontman JD Cronise expresses enthusiasm for the reunion, emphasizing the band's desire to tour and produce new music, with more activities planned for summer 2025.
We know there's demand. It was gratifying and great that [Levitation] show was a sellout. But, you know, even if it had not been that great, I don't think that would have stopped us.
The thing is, being in the Sword is what provides each of us with the most income. I'd much rather go on tour and record music than work at some regular nine-to-five.
