Video. Environmental disaster in the Black Sea
Briefly

The spill involved about 9,200 tonnes of fuel oil from the ships Volgoneft 239 and Volgoneft 212, of which approximately 3,700 tonnes have leaked.
Venturing into the cleanup, hundreds of volunteers and rescue workers are actively involved in mitigating the environmental damage caused by the oil spill.
Current assessment efforts are underway to understand the spill's impact, as satellite data indicates persistent leaking and diffusion of the oil toward the shore.
Despite significant volunteer efforts, the scale of the spill poses ongoing challenges for containment and environmental restoration in the Krasnodar region.
