Coastal Rail Trail's latest Santa Cruz segment opens to fanfare

The Coastal Rail Trail Segment 7, Phase II was officially opened in Santa Cruz, marking a significant milestone in the community's capital investment initiatives over the past decade. Spanning approximately 0.8 miles, this segment is part of the larger 50-mile Monterey Bay Sanctuary Scenic Trail Network and brings together public agencies to realize a shared vision of improved infrastructure for non-motorized travel. The ceremony celebrated the achievements of public works professionals and the community's commitment to enhancing local infrastructure and quality of life.
This project has been part of our capital investment program for 10 years and so we are really excited to share it with the public today.
The Coastal Rail Trail is managed by the Santa Cruz County Regional Transportation Commission and is a component of the 50-mile Monterey Bay Sanctuary Scenic Trail Network project.
