Movsar Evloev is positioned to receive a UFC featherweight title shot at the end of summer. Evloev has remained undefeated at 20-0 and has long been viewed as the most deserving challenger, yet he has not previously been granted a title opportunity. Alexander Volkanovski recognized Evloev as the leading contender after Volkanovski won the featherweight title for a second time against Diego Lopes. Evloev had already beaten Lopes, but Lopes later advanced by challenging Volkanovski again and falling short in a rematch. Evloev continued building his case with a majority decision win over Lerone Murphy at UFC London and additional wins over Lopes, Arnold Allen, Aljamain Sterling, and Murphy.
