The article reflects on the author’s childhood memories of watching wrestling pay-per-views, particularly the WWF events that evoked intense excitement. In contrast, after attending AEW’s Dynasty show, which lasted almost six hours, the author experienced a feeling of exhaustion. Acknowledging the better pacing of childhood shows compared to the modern wrestling landscape, the author notes the lengthy duration of today’s events can detract from the viewer’s engagement and enjoyment, especially when the show serves primarily as an exhibition.
I just wanted to see Stone Cold Steve Austin beat the shit out of Vince McMahon. Even with the boundless energy of a kid, my emotions ran so high.
Dynasty is safely considered a B-show for AEW; it’s between two of its own big shows... and the over-stuffed, near-endless show that we got on Sunday delivered exhausting proof of that.
I am struggling for something like the opposite reason... as a B-show, it should be okay for Dynasty to serve more as an exhibition than an all-time great show.
We filed out of the Liacouras Center at nearly 12:30 a.m, six brutal hours later.
