Allegaeon announce new album, unleash single "Driftwood"
Briefly

Allegaeon has announced their seventh studio album, The Ossuary Lens, set for release on April 4th, 2024. This album features the return of longtime vocalist Ezra Haynes, whose addition brings a new layer of depth to the band’s death metal sound. The single "Driftwood" was highlighted as a significant piece, originally created by bassist Booboo for a previous album. Guitarist Greg Burgess noted the song’s evolution and the band’s creative journey, pointing toward their shift towards a more complex sound that incorporates elements of progressive and ambient music.
"This song holds a special place in Allegaeon history, honestly. This piece was written for Apoptosis by our then-brand new bassist Booboo."
"I think in the beginning we were a little more stripped down, very guitar-forward, focused melodeath. Over time, more technical, symphonic, and progressive elements crept in."
