"Angine de Poitrine are a double-neck guitar / drums duo from Saguenay, Québec who burst on the scene in 2024 with a very unique style: microtonal instrumental math rock that owes to everything from King Gizzard and Tuareg psych to '00s-era dancepunk and techno as played by two people dekked out head-to-toe in polka dots, including full-head masks. The duo's early works were collected on 2024's Vol 1 and they've quickly gained a reputation for their fun, electric live shows."
"They released the single "Mata zyklek" back in November and followed that up with "Fabienk" earlier this month. Check out some of their music, and watch their recent KEXP session (filmed in Rennes, France last year) below. So far, Angine de Poitrine have only played Canada and France but they'll make their US debut later this year, playing Le Poisson Rouge on September 9 & 10."
