AVTT/PTTN, the collaborative project of Scott and Seth Avett of The Avett Brothers and Mike Patton, will make their official live debut at Big Ears in March, but ahead of that they gave their first public performance on Tuesday night (11/25) in NYC. It was part of the Grammy Museum's "New York Evening" series, and happened at The Loreto Theater at The Sheen Center for Thought & Culture, where AVTT/PTTN played four songs off their new album and spoke with moderator Eric André.
Miri Tyler of DC punks Ekko Astral told us about five of her favorite bands from the DC-area, past and present: Ekko Astral's most recent album was 2024's Pink Balloons, one of our favorite albums of that year. They've released some singles since then, most recently last month's "horseglue," which takes them into noise rock territory. Watch the video for that below.
The Lemon Twigs are following up 2024's excellent A Dream is All We Know with a new 7″ single that will be out January 30 via Captured Tracks. "I've Got A Broken Heart" is pure jangly powerpop from Brian D'Addario, while b-side "Friday (I'm Gonna Love You)" is by his brother Michael D'Addario and gets just a little more psychedelic (hello electric sitar!). Father John Misty has already played a lot of shows in support of Mahashmashana, and he's going to play some more. The singer-songwriter's newly announced 2026 tour begins in California in March. Hayley Williams has announced a 2026 tour of North America and Europe. Billed as the Hayley Williams at a Bachelorette Party tour, the run brings the Paramore singer to New York, Chicago, Philadelphia, Nashville, Oakland, and Los Angeles for two nights apiece with additional shows in several other cities. Cat Power is prepping to celebrate the 20th anniversary of her milestone 2006 album, The Greatest, with a new EP and 2026 tour dates. The three-song EP, titled Redux, features Cat Power backed by Dirty Delta Blues, the all-star super-group assembled for the world tour that followed The Greatest comprising guitarist Judah Bauer, keyboardist Gregg Foreman, bassist Erik Paparozzi, and drummer Jim White. It was recorded by Grammy-winning engineer and longtime collaborator Stuart Sikes at Church House Studios in Austin, Texas.

Brandi Carlile has mapped out a 2026 tour, with stints in North America, the UK, and Europe. The trek kicks off in February 2026 and arrives in support of Carlile's forthcoming album, Returning to Myself. Billed as "The Human Tour," the run will see Carlile performing in arenas throughout the US and Canada in February and March. She'll commence the run with a concert in Philadelphia on February 10th, followed by shows in Boston, New York, Toronto, Minneapolis, Salt Lake City, Los Angeles, and more.

Dropkick Murphys are celebrating their 30th birthday in 2026 with their annual St. Patrick's Day residency in Boston. The punk vets just unveiled next year's dates, including shows at BMGM Music Hall at Fenway on March 13th, 14th, and 15th, plus a gig at Citizens House of Blues on March 17th, with support acts yet to be announced. Dropkick Murphys will also be hosting a family-friendly afternoon mini-concert (with meet and greet) on the 14th at MGM Music Hall.
