PUP announce new album Who Will Look After the Dogs?
Briefly

Canadian punk band PUP revealed their upcoming fifth album, 'Who Will Look After the Dogs?', set for release on May 2nd. After the single 'Paranoid', they introduced 'Hallways', which embodies lead singer Stefan Babcock's emotional journey post his ten-year relationship. Written during a tumultuous time, the lyrics draw from themes of self-loathing, acceptance, and humor in dark moments. The album’s production, handled by John Congleton, took place over three weeks in Los Angeles, encapsulating the evolution of Babcock’s personal reflections through relatable frustrations and empathetic insights.
Speaking about the single, Babcock explained, "Within days of announcing our last album, coincidentally titled The Unraveling of PUPTHEBAND, my life unexpectedly imploded. I wrote the lyrics for 'Hallways' while all that was going on. It was a weird fucking week."
Referring to the line from "Hallways" that inspired the title of Who Will Look After the Dogs?, Babcock explained that it was "the very first thing" he wrote in preparation for the album. "I think it's devastating, but in a 'holy shit this is overdramatic' kinda way... sometimes you gotta laugh at yourself. It's the only way out of the abyss. Trust me."
