Warbringer, a prominent name in modern thrash metal, celebrates the release of their seventh studio album, 'Wrath and Ruin,' after a lengthy five-year hiatus since their last record. This album builds upon their successful sound established in previous albums while introducing more extremity. Frontman John Kevill indicated that the album explores themes of class power and dystopian futures, complemented by dark cover art. 'Wrath and Ruin' focuses on a bleak representation of reality, and the band is preparing for a North American tour to promote the new release.
On Wrath and Ruin, we wanted to continue the style and quality of the last two records, while having a darker sound, and generally more extreme and ferocious.
This is reflected in the cover art, which shows a shining city in the clouds above the ruins and slums. The tone of the record overall is meant to be bleak, hopeless, and evil.
