Cause of death revealed for Vegas veterinarian Shawn Frehner, who went missing after being caught on camera kicking horse in face
Briefly

Dr. Shawn Frehner, a Las Vegas veterinarian, was found dead in Lake Mead after being reported missing following a controversial video of him kicking a horse he was treating. His death was ruled a suicide resulting from an injection of the euthanasia drug pentobarbital and subsequent drowning. Frehner had faced felony animal abuse charges and apologized on Facebook, claiming his actions were misunderstood. The horse involved received medical attention for injuries sustained during the incident. The backlash from the video greatly affected his mental state, worry from family and the horse owner was reported.
I did not blatantly haul off and kick this horse as it appears in the video... But yes, I did kick him right in the chin, and I very much do apologize and wish this never happened.
It's horrible, I never, ever wished this upon him, I never wished this upon anybody.
His father told investigators he was worried for his son's safety when he disappeared because of the backlash he had received from the viral video.
The wounded horse received treatment for abrasions to the skull.
