New Yorkers flocked to Coney Island's Luna Park for its reopening, eager to experience the iconic Cyclone coaster. Early arrivals included David Zubin and Erik Knapp, passionate fans who value their time at the park. Knapp, who rode the Cyclone over 2,000 times, shared a personal touch by riding for his ailing mother. The excitement was not only personal but communal, as attendees forged new friendships. State Rep. Alex Brook-Krasny emphasized the uplifting spirit of Coney Island, enhanced by new attractions and perfect weather for the opening weekend.
"Don't lose your inner child," offered Knapp, who has the Cyclone tattooed on his right arm. "Usually, I come here a lot earlier, but my mom is sick. She's 83, and I am actually riding for my mom today."
"All I gotta say is, if you love something in life, do it," said Zubin.
"I'm always saying, 'If you're in a good mood, come to Coney Island,'" Brook-Krasny told The Post. "'If you're in a bad mood, come to Coney Island - your mood will become better.'"
