Exclusive | 'Jew hater,' 20, arrested for allegedly assaulting Jewish victims in NYC hate crime attacks
Briefly

Tarek Bazrouk, a 20-year-old man, has been arrested by federal authorities on multiple hate crime charges for his alleged involvement in a series of antisemitic attacks targeting Jewish individuals during protests in New York City. The incidents date back to April last year, with Bazrouk known for his pro-Hamas sentiments and reputation as a 'Jew hater.' His arrest comes amidst ongoing investigations into violent acts against Jewish citizens, with FBI Director Kash Patel emphasizing a commitment to combating such hate-fueled violence.
"The FBI will pursue violent criminals who assault Jewish citizens. Today's arrest sends a clear message that we are not backing down," said FBI Director Kash Patel.
Bazrouk allegedly lunged at a group carrying Israeli flags and kicked a Jewish college student in the stomach while being arrested.
Federal prosecutors noted that Bazrouk had pro-Hamas propaganda on his phone and referred to himself as a 'Jew hater' in messages.
Jonathan Lederer, a victim of one of Bazrouk's attacks, recounted how he was assaulted while Bazrouk ranted about Hitler and Nazis.
