Man Sexually Assaulted Woman At Gunpoint On Manhattan Street, DA Says

Albert Brown, 35, was sentenced to 20 years in state prison for a sexual assault that occurred in East Harlem. On November 1, 2023, Brown threatened a 24-year-old woman at gunpoint, demanding her cellphone and subsequently forcing her to perform oral sex. Following the crime, he fled the scene but was arrested eight days later. Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg emphasized the gravity of the crime and the importance of safety for New Yorkers. Brown will also undergo 25 years of post-release supervision and mandatory registration as a sex offender.
Brown will serve 20 years in a state prison, followed by 25 years of post-release supervision, Bragg said. Brown will also be required to complete the New York State Sex Offender Registration.
