Mikhail Afanasev, a Russian attendee, shared his plight, saying, 'I came from Russia where I am completely prohibited as a person, as gay,' emphasizing the need for freedom and rights in society.
Despite the heavy police presence, the atmosphere was celebratory, with participants dancing and waving flags, showcasing their determination for rights, as one expressed, 'We want to love, we want to live in a free society.'
