A Williamsburg Dance Club Is Closing After a Decade
Briefly

The Williamsburg nightclub Black Flamingo is set to close in March 2025, according to co-owner Bryce David. Since its opening in 2015, the establishment has faced significant market changes, including increased competition and a decrease in nightlife attendance. David pointed to the challenging market for DJs and the small profit margins as contributing factors to the closure. However, the owners will continue to operate their successful Mexican seafood restaurant, Ensenada, at both the Brooklyn and a new Miami location, which opened in 2024.
“It felt like it was time to close the doors at the basement club,” co-owner Bryce David said, citing competition, a saturated market, and financial losses as reasons for the decision.
“A lot has changed in nightlife since 2015” with the over-saturation of DJ booths and decreasing dance floor attendance, according to David.
David and chef Luis Herrera aim to focus on their two Ensenada locations in Brooklyn and Miami after closing Black Flamingo.
Black Flamingo, a venue that opened in 2015 as a vegan restaurant and nightclub, will close in March 2025 due to market shifts and financial struggles.
