Reflecting on his approach, Onwuachi prioritizes quality food in designing his menu, collaborating with the Mets to move away from classic items like hot dogs and Cracker Jack to a diverse culinary experience featuring options such as halal food and steaks.
Onwuachi emphasized the importance of starting with great food, noting, 'We have a halal cart here, we have pizza, we have steak. We're chefs and we start with the food.'
The new stand, Chef Kwame's Patty Palace features a 'flaky patty filled with chicken curry and served in coco bread, topped with green sauce, jerk BBQ & ginger cabbage slaw.'
Chef Onwuachi reflects on his process, stating, 'I didn't think about it. I just started with the food and that was it.'
Gone are the days of just hot dogs and Cracker Jack as celebrity chefs like Onwuachi elevate the ballpark food experience to gourmet offerings.
