AMC's Flagship Lincoln Square Theater Open For Business After Flooding In Massive NYC Rainstorm
Briefly

AMC Lincoln Square theater on the Upper West Side reopened after severe rain caused a pipe to break, leading to flooding in lower levels. The Imax auditorium on the top floor remained unaffected. The storm resulted in over two inches of rain falling in Central Park in one hour, causing significant transit disruptions and unfortunately, two fatalities in New Jersey. AMC announced that remediation work is ongoing in impacted auditoriums, which will stay closed, and automatic refunds for affected showtimes will be issued.
The heavy downpour caused damage to a roof pipe, which led to a significant amount of water coming into a portion of the lower levels of the building.
The theater is open today. Impacted auditoriums and other affected areas of the theatre will remain closed as remediation work is underway.
Refunds will be issued automatically for tickets purchased to affected showtimes.
More than two inches of rain fell on Central Park within an hour on Monday night, a near record for the city.
