Cops arrest stepson accused of killing Brooklyn rapper over smoking near pregnant mom
"The boy's mother, who was three months pregnant, was upset he was smoking weed in the house. 'She didn't want the baby to be affected by the smoke,' said NYPD Chief of Detectives Joseph Kenny."
"After a prolonged search, cops tracked him down to E. 165th St., where he was taken into custody without incident. 'He had a backpack with all his belongings in it,' Kenny said."
"On the day of the shooting, the teen denied he was smoking and 'was being so disrespectful, calling (his mother) some names,' said Davis' brother, Geo Miller."
A 16-year-old boy was arrested for allegedly shooting his stepfather, Jamel Davis, during a dispute over smoking weed in their NYCHA apartment. The incident occurred on April 12, when the boy's pregnant mother expressed concern about the smoke affecting her baby. A verbal dispute escalated into a physical fight between the boy and Davis, leading the teen to retrieve a gun and shoot Davis twice. The boy had prior arrests and had been involved in previous domestic incidents.
