New video footage reveals the desperate attempts of NYPD first responders to save victims from a helicopter crash in the Hudson River that occurred last week, resulting in six fatalities, including three young children. Responders, including scuba teams, arrived just minutes after the incident, contending with challenging water conditions. The Bell 2026L-4 Long Ranger IV helicopter crashed on April 10, killing pilot Seankese Johnson and a family of five visiting from Spain. Investigations are ongoing to determine the cause of the crash.

It wasn't too bad when we first got in the water, but we were there all day and we had to rig up the helicopter for the army corps to bring up.
In one heart-breaking scene one responder appears to be performing CPR on a victim aboard one of the police boats - while a body shown on the nearby pier is blurred out of the video.
