A call was made to 911 regarding gun shots being fired at 7:21 p.m. earlier tonight, Nov. 26. Police officers that responded to the call found two individuals shot at Fulton and Jay Street. One of the two was an 18-year-old man who had been shot in the left leg and elbow; the other was a woman of a currently unknown age, who was shot in the right leg.

A federal jury found Michael McMahon, a retired NYPD sergeant turned private investigator, guilty of acting as a foreign agent and interstate stalking after a two-week trial in June 2023. The jury acquitted him on a count of conspiracy to act as a foreign agent. According to prosecutors, McMahon was a critical member of a Chinese campaign to intimidate dissident Xu Jin, a former Wuhan city official, and his family, with the end goal of pressuring Xu into returning to China.
Detectives in Brooklyn are on the hunt for a rapist who attacked a 12-year-old girl on Thursday evening after following her into her East Williamsburg apartment building, authorities said. The NYPD released a photo Friday afternoon of the alleged perverted perpetrator sought for the attack, which occurred in the vicinity of Morgan Avenue and Skillman Avenue at about 5:45 p.m. on Nov. 6.

Brian "Smiles" Simonsen, a beloved neighborhood officer who served on the precinct's frontline for 19 years. On Saturday, Oct. 25, at 11 a.m., the baseball field section of Victory Field in Forest Park was renamed in honor of Simonsen's legacy. The New York City Police Department plans to increase its uniformed headcount by 5,000 officers over the next three years to address a growing staffing crisis, aiming to reach 40,000 officers by the end of fiscal year 2029, Mayor Eric Adams announced on Friday. A Brooklyn man has been arrested and charged with concealing a human corpse after police discovered a body outside of his home, officials said. According to the NYPD, officers responded to a 911 call Friday morning and found an unconscious, unresponsive man outside 557 East 21st St. in Flatbush. He had visible signs of trauma and was pronounced dead at the scene, authorities said.
