Driver Pleads Not Guilty In NYC Crash That Killed 3
Briefly

A 32-year-old driver, Miriam Yarimi, is facing serious charges including manslaughter after a tragic crash in Brooklyn that resulted in the deaths of a mother and her two children. Yarimi allegedly disregarded traffic laws, speeding over the limit and running red lights, leading to the fatal incident that occurred on March 29. The victims were crossing the street when Yarimi's vehicle struck them. Officials described the event as one of the worst they've encountered, and Yarimi could face a lengthy prison sentence if convicted.
This horrific fatal crash was one of the worst I've seen in over 25 years as a prosecutor. It wasn't an accident. This defendant's unconscionably dangerous driving wiped out a family, Brooklyn District Attorney Eric Gonzalez said.
Prosecutors allege Yarimi was driving more than twice the speed limit and ran multiple red lights before the crash.
