Wendy Hill faced a parking fine after using the RingGo app to pay in Fentiman Way car park in Hornchurch. The ticket machine didn't work, prompting her to rely on the app, which she claims mistakenly registered her in the wrong parking zone. When challenged, Havering Council admitted her payment but insisted it was invalid as the selected zone was incorrect. Hill expressed frustration at the situation, describing it as ‘entrapment’ and noting it was a genuine mistake amidst the chaos of caring for her young grandson.
It's almost like its entrapment, they're doing it to trap people.
I moved onto the pavement so that I was off of the road.
The app gives you the option that it picks up your location, so I selected that and paid for the car.
It's a genuine error, but I'm being penalized for it.
