MTA higher-up surprises students with visit to Park Slope school
Briefly

MTA President Demetrius Crichlow visited P.S. 282 to recognize student Sasha Estep's creative letter regarding fare enforcement ideas. Estep suggested installing cameras on buses to monitor fare compliance. Crichlow, impressed by the letter, spoke to students about the history of the transit system while showcasing their artistic creations, including models of subway stations. He praised the students' work, committed to displaying their art in his office, and discussed initiatives like Student OMNY cards to foster further engagement with young transit enthusiasts.
I was so impressed when I received a letter from P.S. 282 student Sasha Estep. I was compelled to meet him and his fellow classmates.
The letter made it all the way to the NYC Transit president's desk at the MTA Headquarters, and Crichlow was truly impressed.
We are so inspired by the power of student voices and the responsiveness of the MTA and President Crichlow.
Words can't describe how astounded I was to see the incredible artwork created by the students.
