Briefly

Thomas J. Russo, a 98-year-old Staten Island trial attorney, passed away on June 16. He founded a prominent law firm in West Brighton, which continues today. Known for his integrity and courtroom skills, Russo was committed to serving his clients and community. Active in local charities, he also prioritized decorum in his practice. After studying at Fordham Law School, he established his firm in 1959 and retired in 1999. Russo's personal life included a lasting marriage and a strong connection to Staten Island, where he was a respected figure.
"Tom was a gentleman attorney," Scamardella said. "Proud of his profession, he treated all with the utmost respect and was a stickler for decorum."
Mr. Russo was a generous community leader, Scamardella added. He was devoted to his church and offered pro-bono legal representation to charities.
