Border czar Tom Homan expressed frustration over Mayor Eric Adams' inadequate measures to address immigration enforcement in New York City, setting up a second meeting that is anticipated to be contentious. During their prior meeting, Adams suggested reopening ICE's office on Rikers Island and hinted at an executive order to clarify sanctuary policies. However, sources indicate that Homan is seeking immediate action from the mayor, particularly involving collaboration between the NYPD and federal agencies to combat criminal migrants, notably gang members posing public safety threats.
Homan wants something immediate and doesn't want to wait till next January. The mayor has emergency order power. He's going to have to beg and be a good boy for Trump.
I'm hoping we come to an agreement where his officers will help my officers remove these public safety threats, especially Tren de Aragua and the other alien gangs that are creating havoc in New York.
