Tamika Powell, a 36-year-old mother of two, was fatally shot in Brooklyn following a seemingly pointless argument during a barbecue. Witnesses reported that the shooter returned wearing a mask after the altercation and fired a single shot, killing Powell. Her distraught mother described her daughter as beloved in their Prospect Heights neighborhood and expressed her anguish at the loss. Powell was remembered as a free spirit who had recently moved back in with her family, and her mother called for the shooter to face justice.
