City officials in Staten Island announced the $2.5 million revitalization of Annadale Green, designed to modernize the community hub known for its annual Christmas Tree lighting and social events. The project, led by Councilmember Frank Morano and Borough Parks Commissioner staff, will introduce updated amenities such as a larger gathering space and improved electrical installations. While the park will undergo renovations, certain events in 2025 will be affected, with plans to return the World War II memorial post-construction. Officials emphasized the park's significance as a social focal point for residents.
"South Shore residents know Annandale Green is a community hub. It's the heart of the South Shore, not just geographically, but socially," Morano said.
"This is totally a hub for the neighborhood, and we look forward to having a new, revitalized park," Homsey said.
